| Medical Doctors -- Your Report Card Is In... (The author of the following article is unknown. If you can identify the author, or anyone holding copyrights to this article, please email us*) "The Harvard University School of Public Health estimates that as many as 1.3 million Americans suffer disabling injuries in hospitals annually, and 198,000 of those may result in death. . . . The New England Journal of Medicine reported that in 1984, in New York State alone, standard hospital procedures injured 98,609 persons and killed 13,451. Extrapolated nationwide, this could mean medical malpractice injures 1.4 million Americans and routinely kills 186,000 persons per year. "The Office of Technology Assessment reported that only 10- 20% of medical techniques now used have been tested and proven to be effective remedies for what they seek to heal, meaning that 80-90% of medical 'experiments' are either unproved, or have been tested and found lacking. "One thousand U.S. citizens die every DAY of cancer. The cancer rate one hundred years ago was 3%. The mortality rate in 1989 had risen to 24% with no sign of reducing. The American Cancer Society keeps a blacklist of 63 'unproven' cancer treatments, over 40 of which have not even been investigated, while official reports of progress against cancer have not proven true. "Each year there are 61,000 cases of drug-induced Parkinson's disease, 32,000 hip fractures from drug induced falls, 163,000 cases of drug induced memory loss or impaired thinking, 243,000 hospitalizations for adverse prescription drug reactions, 500,000 cases of prescription-induced dizziness or fainting, while 20 of the top 'DO NOT USE' drugs are dished out in over 80 million prescriptions costing over one billion dollars annually. "It is estimated the following are performed either by mistake or for money and are not needed: 500,000 Cesarean sections yearly, 90% of hysterectomies, 85% of bypass surgeries which needlessly kill 14,875 persons according to another Harvard study. "Although the U.S. drains more money than any other country into so-called health research, it ranks 14th in the world in true health-wealth consciousness. One half of 1% of doctors polled claimed to have any knowledge of nutrition. "And this from a man who has been in Employee Benefits and sees the insurance claims that come in: "Because of their insurance, doctors have been given a carte blanche to do anything they want to that person, with no checks and balances. Having been in the employee benefits field for 23 years, I have seen first-hand and know what is going on. "Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, and a few other cities all noticed that when the doctors went on strike, the mortality rate dropped dramatically. Take notice of that last sentence: when doctors are not available, people do not die at such a high rate!"
